SEARS Cotton Peignoir Robe & Night Gown by Shadowline, NOS w/Tags VTG 60's

Description: Sears Roebuck and Co. peignoir set produced by Shadowline that is Deadstock, NOS with Tags in mint condition. This set is more unusual as it is COTTON blend rather than nylon. This peignoir set includes a knee length night gown and robe in a soft pink color with a decorative floral eyelet lace details at both the yoke line of the robe and gown with bust size to 40 inches in a forgiving fit that should fit small to medium sizes today. This set was made by Shadowline for Sears, Roebuck and Co. The tags on this show this set has the original Sears tags inside and the 32/34 Size tag on inside of garment at side seam. This is a very forgiving fit and bust is to 40 inches. The most crucial area on this would be the armholes and the bust. If this works for you - then this set should fit as it is a very figure forgiving fit. I purchased this and over 500 vintage lingerie items with NOS tags. This has been tried on only for the photo shoot and is in Mint vintage condition. These were sales and inventory samples to show potential customers the product line and they could order from the samples. This set is from May 28 either 1965 or 1968 and was produced for Sears under their label. These Shadowline sets were made in USA in North Carolina. The gown is model #2380 and the robe is style #2382. The inventory tags still hang on these garments. This does not have the tags inside, but the other perma prest pieces I have shows this is a cotton blend and is most certainly machine washable and dryable. This does not have the fabric contents tags inside, but this is certainly a soft blend of dacron polyester and cotton. The other pieces that have the tags show this is 65% Dacron polyester and 35% pima cotton. It feel light a nice light weight cotton fabric. This night gown has a boat neckline and feminine and lovely scalloped eyelet and embroidery detail and both front and back of yoke area. This is gathered under the yoke in front and back so is figure forgiving. The matching peignoir robe has short sleeves with a decorative eyelet and lace detail at the yoke area and sleeves. This is also gathered at the front and back under the yoke. This has a patch pocket at the right hand side of the robe. The robe has 5 buttons down the front of the robe. This peignoir set is knee length. The tag for Sears shows size 32 to 34, but the bust measures 40 inches on the gown and 44 inches on the robe - so should easily fit other sizes today. This is a cotton and Dacron polyester blend - and this can be machine washed and dried. The tag at the top of the robe Reads: By Sears, Roebuck and Co. Size 32 to 34 Made in the USA CONDITION: This is MINT condition and has never been worn. This comes to you clean and unworn in NOS condition without tags. Measurements on Peignoir Robe: shoulder to shoulder is 15 1/2 inches sleeves are 1 inches on inside and 4 1/2 inches on outside area. armhole is 19 inches bust to 44 inches (this would be with all buttons closed) waist to 50 inches hips to 54 inches length is 38 inches This robe can be worn both open or closed Measurements on Peignoir Night Gown this gown is sleeveless bust to 40 inches armhole is 19 inches waist to 52 inches hips to 58 inches length is 38 inches The most important measurement for most will be the armhole area and the bust area. If this fits you in these two points, this lovely peignoir should work for you as this is very figure forgiving. It is amazing for a cotton piece that so much work and detail went into this piece. I love the fact that this is a cotton blend - which some people like to use in the summer rather than nylon. I have bought this and many other pieces that were sales samples that are in unworn MINT condition. Please save me to your favorites if you like this and want to see other Shadowline NOS pieces. Lovely and feminine piece that is so RARE to find in unworn condition. Harder to find cotton blend pieces are truly a wonder to find.
