No water damage or musty smells. Some books do have cosmetic issues, as you can see in the photos. These books have been well taken care of for over a hundred years! Each book of this set has a previous owners name written on the very first page and may have some pencil writing. Easily erasable. Pages are speckled on all three sides, the paper book titles on the spine are also in very good condition. This set should have 36 books, but sadly, it is missing one book - #33.
