Description: Heavy brass construction. Quartz clock that takes a single AA battery. Front brass structurr unscrews and you can pull the clock body out. 2 things -- there is a small crack to the face edge nesr the edge of wear the brass ring screws on. Its very hard to notice at any distance as its almost cover by the brass ring's overlap, but it is there. The second thing is that the clock does keep proper time with a battery inside, however, you need to apply a piece of tape to it to hold it in snugly or it will get a bit lose and stop ticking. You will see some white residue on the black housing under the battery port from the last taping--this is not corrosion! With thr tape in place it kept great time. Face is about 3.25in across. Entire piece is about 7in long by 5in wide and sticks out from the wall about 2 3/4in. Brass patina is natural and still has a nice luster. Beautiful piece.
