A number of his compositions have become jazz standards, earning him the title "Saxophone Colossus." Offered for sale is Charles Blancq, Sonny Rollins: The Journey of a Jazzman (Boston: Twayne Publishers, 1980). Hardcover, no dust jacket, 1st ed., inscribed and signed. Blancq (1941-2018) was a jazz pioneer and historian who taught at the University of New Orleans for thirty-eight years. Barely noticeable wear; very nice copy. Unsigned online copy ca $100.
