The battery life was tested to be around 7 hours of offline video playback (no wifi or bluetooth), which is close to what Apple originally claimed on their technical specifications for this device (claims for iOS 11, this iPod is on iOS 12 so the runtime is a bit lower). This should roughly equate to around 30-40 hours of offline music playback at 256 kbps AAC.
