Description: (Please see all photos and read full description before bidding. View Photo(s) for size reference with ruler. Contact prior with any questions.) Genuine Starship S29 Heat Shield Tile Section - Ultra Collectible piece (Museum Quality). This large piece was found freshly washed in on Boca Chica Beach within a few miles of the launchpad on June 6th, 2024. This unique piece has the original ‘X’ Identifier Marking on the back. This particular piece is currently the largest tile piece from Flight 4 being sold to the public! This is an absolute genuine Flight 4 Heat Tile Section worthy of museum or prized personally collection. Comes with Official SpaceX Flight 4 Mission Patch! This auction is for a Genuine SpaceX Starship S29 Thermal Heat Shield Tile Surface/Corner Section and Official Mission Patch. This piece is ULTRA RARE as it fell off during actual launch above the Gulf of Mexico (possibly during Max Q). At this time a micro amount of non-complete tile sections have been found, all coming detached during some point of the launch over the Gulf. Unlike SN24, S25, and S28 - RECOVERED tiles from S29 are EXTEMELY RARE and limited. So far, tiles from Flight 4 (S29) will be the absolute most RARE and hard to come by. Reason for this is all the previous Starships resulted in explosions distributing their tiles off the vehicle. With Flight 4, the ship did a flip and burn/soft landing in the Indian Ocean. This means the Starship sank to the bottom with most of its tiles still attached. This piece is considered a highly sought after Museum Relic from an ultra iconic mission! This heat tile section has officially and responsibly been reported to SpaceX's debris reporting contact (6/6/24). This particular tile piece is one of just an elite handful that have even been recovered from S29. This is considered a very collectible item being offered suitable for the hardcore space enthusiast, collector, or museum. Now is your chance to own a piece of history! This piece must be handled with care as the nature of this item is very fragile. - On June 6th, 2024 SpaceX conducted the launch and the 4th Flight of the Starship Vehicle and Super Heavy Booster. Towering 40 stories tall, the Starship and Super Heavy Booster lifted off the earth surpassing double the thrust of the legendary Saturn V rocket. New goals and objectives had been established for this flight. The vehicle successfully conducted a hot staging separation for the 3rd time while ejecting the attached hot stage ring. This time the Booster returned back to the gulf and with all but one engine running, performed a perfect ‘virtual’ catch at the surface of the water. Meanwhile, Starship continued to fly in all her glory. After a few minutes, Starship had stopped just shy of orbit as planned. The big story was the re-entry into the atmosphere and whether the Heat tiles would protect the ship. With controlled maneuverability, the ship stayed in trajectory. The world was able to see the Heat tiles at work live via steaming from Starlink satellites as plasma built up around the surface of the ship with extraordinary temperatures. During re-entry, at least one wing flap nearly melted and was being torched by the extreme frictional heat. However, the ship remained strong and as planned was able to pull off the impossible with a perfect Flip and Burn which raised the ship vertically for a virtual soft landing. This was a landmark mission for SpaceX and Aerospace history. Unlike the other Starships, the very limited number of tile pieces of flight 4 recovered are extremely low and rare. These heat tiles had come detached from the ship at some point during the launch over the Gulf. Some shook off instantly, while it is speculated some came off during Max Q and even hot staging. To be able to hold one of these pieces of history in your hand is a remarkable treat! Due to the nature of these items, the sale is final and non-refundable.
