The SRM-500T uses a STAX custom-made low-noise DUAL FET in the first stage and a high-voltage 6FQ7/6CG7 bipolar tube in the output stage, and while following the traditional circuit design that has already been perfected in STAX's tube-type driver circuits, it achieves further sound quality improvement by enhancing the efficiency of the power supply. The SRM-500T employs a newly designed power transformer with windings for low-voltage circuits in addition to those for conventional high-voltage circuits. This low-voltage winding improves the efficiency of the power supply, resulting in power savings and improved sound quality compared to conventional tube-type driver units such as the SRM-006tS. In addition, a new chassis with increased rigidity compared to the SRM-006tS has been adopted. A hybrid structure with extensive use of nonmagnetic aluminum further suppresses the effects of vibration and other physical extraneous noise. The input systems are RCA and XLR inputs for exclusive use, and the same custom-made dual-axis quadruple volume and parallel out function for RCA input common to all STAX products are also provided as in previous models. The various electronic components used have been carefully considered in terms of sound quality, performance, and environmental friendliness. The complete DC amplifier configuration, which does not use any coupling capacitors in the signal circuit, continues to be one of its major features. The clear, high slew-rate sound and warm, expansive reproduction of the tube circuitry have been maintained, while the thickness of the mid and low frequencies has been brushed up. A new option for use with the Advanced Lambda Series (SR-L300/SR-L500 MK2/SR-L700 MK2) is now available.
