When I was growing up in Los Angeles a lot of people from the Compton, Gardena and Torrance areas used to frequent and open air market. It is called the “Roadium swap meet.” This is where we used to buy gangster attire, ghetto blasters, mixed tapes, airbrushed clothes and so on. Inside this swap meet there was a Korean guy named Steve who used to sell music and specialized in limited runs of mixed tapes. We would see all the guys from NWA such as Eazy-E, Dr. Dre, ice cube, MC ran, DJ Yella, hi See, DJ Tony A and so on. All of us locals looked forward to coming down every week and picking up a copy of the newest mixed tapes and freestyles they would work on right there in the flea market. It became a thing to gather there and collect those cassettes. If you are from Los Angeles and grew up in the middle of this then you know what I’m talking about. What I have here is a very rare collection that has been privately released to re-introduced those lost sound tracks back to people who need to re-discover this amazing time. Truly a mix of old classics. Do not sleep on these albums. Highly collectible. I currently have about 25 sets of these if you are interested in purchasing more than one.
