Written for young people of all ages, it can truly be enjoyed by adults or youths."I found a copy of this book in the local library. Although it was in the children's section, I checked it out since there were few other books available on this subject. What a surprise! This delightfully written volume presents all the salient events of the Pilgrim history from the childhood inspiration of William Bradford in England to the end of the brutal conflict between colonists and Native peoples known as King Philip's War. More than merely recounting events, Morison discusses their background thoroughly enough to satisfy most adult readers. His prose is lucid but animated, accessible to adults as well as children, and the beautifully crafted illustrations will likewise appeal to anyone interested in the appearance of the Pilgrims, the Natives, and their surroundings. Furthermore, Morison entertains readers of all ages with his engaging descriptions of the Pilgrims' houses, clothing, beliefs, customs, and everyday activities."A fine addition for your bookshelf!Condition: Ex-library copy with the usual markings, a little wear at spine ends and corners, otherwise in very good condition with a solid binding and clean pages. We know the excitement of a new page turner, or the familiar joy of an old favorite, and we find satisfaction in putting older, and often scarce books in the hands of people who have the same love for old books that we do.Customer Service:Rivendell Antiquarian Books is committed to ensuring each customer is entirely satisfied with their puchase and our service. If you have any issues or concerns please contact us and we will be more than happy to help. Our books have been inspected carefully by hand by experienced book valuers to ensure the condition description is as accurate as possible for this exact copy pictured. If you have questions about the book before or after purchasing, please feel free to contact us!Packaging:We take pride in packaging our books for safe delivery, and if you check our feedback, you will see this reflected in the comments of many pleased customers. For nearly all of our books, we use a specially designed boxing system from IPS (Inovative Packaging Solutions) located in York, PA. These media shipping boxes are designed to conform to the size of the book, securing it and preventing it from bumping around during shipping. The end result is a box which provides a double thickness of cardboard covering the front and back of the book; actually almost like a box within a box. The outer layer of cardboard extends beyond the ends of the inner "box" which very efficiently protects the corners of the book from being bumped and damaged by the sometimes rough handling packages receive in transit. In addition we place the book in a plastic bag to help guard against moisture if a package is left out in the elements.Delivery:We aim to get all books shipped within 24 hours of order except on weekends. We can't control the delivery time once a book leaves our hands, but most of the time USPS is prompt in delivery, and the expected delivery time given by eBay is usually fairly accurate. Because we use media mail to keep costs down, it does take a little longer for delivery, and occasionally packages get delayed in the mail system. If for some reason your order has not arrived within the expected time frame, please get in contact with us so that we can try to help you.
