Description: This used 100 Timorese escudo note is a standard circulation banknote issued by the National Overseas Bank. It is a brown note that is dated 2 January 1959, bear the signatures of Francisco Jose Vieira Machado and Luis Pereira Coutinho, and measures 160 mm x 80 mm. Its obverse side features the Portuguese Empire coat of arms and a portrait of Jose Celestino da Silva. Its reverse side shows the BNU seal and the Portuguese Empire coat of arms. Though the note does not have a security thread, it has a watermark of Jose Celestino da Silva. The note was withdrawn in 1970. Because it is a used banknote, it may have minor tearing, folding, and/or ink stains.
