Description: This dazzling cotton 1870's / 1880's starburst is all hand pieced and hand quilted, with unusual "rays" emanating from the star in the background.It measures 68" X 76" and is in fair condition, with fabric deterioration in many of the center fabrics (mostly browns) and in the reds in a few places. There is quilting around the piecework and in straight line designs in the background, all at 9-10 stitches to the inch. The back is white, the hand stitched binding is solid red, and the batting is thin. The WONDERFUL DESIGN makes this 19th century beauty stand out -- it would make a terrific wall hanging!
