Description: Vintage 1940's Desert Rose Glass Sherbet Dishes Set of 4 Imperial Candlewick When my parent's were married in 1945, their china pattern was Franciscan Ware Desert Rose. They were married before WWII ended and my mom always said that during the war there weren't many choices in china patterns as imports of dinnerware from Europe had been curtailed. Desert Rose was the most popular of the American made dinnerware and has endured as a favorite for decades. These were made by the Imperial Glass Company in Bellaire, Ohio. Imperial produced this hand-painted glassware on their Candlewick line of glass from the 1940's to the early 1950's. The pattern was called "Western Rose" and was designed to complement Franciscan Desert Rose. These four sherbet dishes were part of her set. They have been packed away in the attic since 1964. Each sherbet is 3 3/8 inches tall. The bowl of each is 3 5/8 inches in diameter and the base is 2 13/16 inches in diameter. They are in wonderful condition with no chips or cracks. The paint is lovely and shows no wear. (Please see photos.) The glass is beautiful and sparkling clear as you would expect from their Candlewick line. Any white spots in the photos are reflections. A truly beautiful, authentically vintage addition for your Desert Rose dinnerware. They could be easily be used for cocktail glasses. Please message with any questions or if more photos are needed. Some international shipping. Will combine on shipping. These will be carefully packed for safe shipping--in a good-sized box with lots of bubble wrap. Please choose either USPS Ground Advantage or Priority shipping.
