Description: Vintage Rare Disco 1970's Jill Richards Gold Lame Silk Chiffon Dress Long Sleeves and Flowing Skirt (Originally purchased from It's A Wrap in Hollywood in 2009) When researching the dress I found a doppelgänger dress sold by an expensive couture company going for a little over $1000, so this is not just fashionable but cheap compared to the other options out there. Jill Richards was an American designer from California, active from 1970 to the 1990s. Known for very feminine clothing in luxury fabrics. She counted among her clientele Hollywood stars. She understood lighting and had a flair for drama. The L.A. Times noted in her obituary that “[s]he was one of small group of Los Angeles designers who helped expand the California market beyond swimsuits and shorts.
