Description: Vintage 1970's Royal Brierley Iridescent Burgundy & Blue Atomiser/Perfume Bottle + box Cant remember how old this is but has been around a few years as part of a collection of perfume bottles. However, it has never been used for perfume - I loved the bottles but not the smell of stale perfume.A lovely example of British Art Glass from Royal Brierley Vintage Glass Perfume Atomizer - the atomizer worksBeautiful iridescent shades of reds, purples and goldMade in EnglandEtched on Base Original Tag IntactOriginal BoxExcellent ConditionBeautifully appointed box makes this a lovely giftHeight 11 cmDiameter 9 cm The design is like a drip wax in that the bottom has drips of colour in blue and the top in a pink/burgundy. They really come to life when placed in the light. Of all the perfume bottles I’m listing this one is the only one that shows signs of wear on the base. Probably because it is so pretty it was handled /looked at more. Priced to reflect this but apart from label looking dirty no chips or flaws. Who are royal Brierley? Stevens & Williams was a glass company in Brierley Hill in the English Midlands. The name Stevens and Williams Limited was established in 1847. This name was used until 1967 and then abandoned. Royal Brierley Crystal was the name used for the company's glass work from 1919 - the date that King George the fifth awarded the company with a Royal Warrant. Royal Brierley Crystal went bankrupt and closed in 2000. Dartington Crystal acquired the company in 2006 . Royal Brierley is still hand crafted by the skilled glass makers in England.
