Description: Please read complete description and carefully look at all photos.Vintage 1986 Guild X-500 Stuart Flame Maple Blond Guitar Body/Neck w/ Case. This is Guild’s flagship model. Blond Guilds are always stunning and this one is extra stunning! Nice flame on the back, very nice flame on the sides and wild flame on the neck. I would list this as excellent except the neck joint is loose. It doesn’t rattle around but when I hold the body steady, I detect a slight back and forth movement in the neck. Also note the resulting chipped lacquer on the neck side of the cutaway (please see photos). The neck angle looked very good before the strings were removed so maybe resetting the neck will be simplified. Otherwise, the body/neck is excellent. It has the light play/handling wear of a beloved, cherished guitar that was played moderately through its 38 year life then lovingly stored. It looks great! The gloss lacquer really pops in reflected light. Medium fret wear with lots of life left. The ebony fretboard looks great. Back of neck is very nice. I didn’t see any obvious blemishes. There is a slight amount of roughness in the binding as it approaches the headstock (near the nut). Guitar weighs (as shown in photos) 5 pounds, 15.6 ounces. 24.75” scale. Approximately 1-5/8” wide at nut. 12” radius. Comes with quality Gretsch hard case shown in first two photos. Case has moderate wear but latches up tight and fits the guitar nicely. I will sometimes use UPS instead of FedEx even when FedEx is selected. When I do, I will absorb any extra cost. Photos are a major part of the description.
