Description: This set includes two carving knives and one fork and included the original box. The knives and fork are in very good condition for their age. A few minor spots on smaller knife. Stainless steel, made in JapanThis is a nice vintage "Samurai" 3-piece slicing and carving knife set. The long, sleek blades were crisply ground and polished to a deeply mirrored finish. The edges are free of any nicks, chips, dings, or damage and remain very nice with few signs of use or wear. The carving fork has an extra heavy-duty design and the shaft is over 1/2" thick at the base. Knives measure 15" long and carving fork measures 13" with the tines being 3-1/2" long. All three pieces have unique steel guard that were polished to a deeply mirrored finish. The box has some tearing on front, and inside has a stain. The hinge on left side is torn. (See pics)The guards remain rock-solid and completely tight with just a couple tiny spots of surface corrosion around the edges. The handles remain completely solid and tight with no chips, cracks, gouges, or any other problems. The wood remains dark and rich with a warm, smooth feel in the hand. Each handle has a brass dragon face tacked on the front side. All three remain completely solid and tight with no marring or damage.The knives have a 9" blade.
