The vintage Art Deco brass lamp is in its original "as found" condition and should be rewired up to current electrical standards before using it. The old lamp has a deep patina of age from the passage of time and heavy use including dings, scratches and oxidation to the metal. The vintage lamp works but is temperamental to turn on. When facing the lamp, turn the switch to left. It take a few moments for the fluorescent light to come on and sometime you need to jiggle it a bit.
