Description: VINTAGE Asian Jewelry Trinket Box Mother of Pearl Inlay Black Lacquer MCM China This is an AMAZING VINTAGE black lacquer on wood Chinese jewelry/trinket box from the 1950s. The box is handmade with lacquered wood and inlaid with mother of pearl accents. There is a scene on the lid of a man walking in the countryside. The sides are decorated with mother of pearl in the shapes of flowers and plants. This box is lovely in its workmanship. It is 4.25 inches wide, 3.5 inches long, and 2 inches high. There are a few condition issues with chipping. 2 of the corners of the lid are chipped (see photos) and 1 corner where the lid meets the bottom also has a chip. The MOP is in fine condition, but the whole thing could used a good cleaning. There are some dirt stains and a little bit of a rust stain that can be removed, but I didn't want to harm the box by cleaning it.
