Description: Barbara Nechis began by painting the kind of watercolor landscapes we all began with - leafy trees and old traditional landscapes rendered in descriptive detail. But she quickly realized that although her efforts were satisfactory, they were not satisfying. She wanted to find her voice, a better way to express her response to the visual world. She wanted to convey the essence of a subject not just describe its visual facts. By using color, shape, and space more abstractly, she developed a visual language that is uniquely her own. This artwork is called "Summer Silhouette" and was painted in the 70s-80s. The frame is brass and the painting is covered in glass. It is 27-1/2" x 22". This artwork is very heavy - approximately 14# so freight will be high. No flaws or imperfections. Non-smoking home.
