Vintage Beautiful ORIGINAL Large Sofa-Size SIGNED Euro River Village Oil FRAMED

Description: This gorgeous rolling landscape painting features quaint old-world cottages on the peaceful forested shore of a vast river or lake. The colors are nuanced - they appear to be shifting from deep greens of summer to bright oranges and golds of fall. The medium is oil on canvas, mounted on wood, and framed. It is signed "Jong DK". I was unable to locate any information on this artist, or any other pieces online. It measures approximately 29 3/4 inches in height and is about 41.5 inches wide (framed) - large enough to fit over a sofa or anchor any blank canvas wall.This tranquil rural scene is beautifully executed in shades of forest green, goldenrod, rust, ivory, white, and beautiful shades of ebony and blue for the water and the sky. The frame is a traditionally styled beveled solid wood, with a medium cherry stain and a linen border. I don't know the exact age or origin of this artwork, but would estimate 1980's - 1990's, based on the painting style, frame, and color scheme. This piece was purchased at an upscale Florida estate sale and it is not unusual to find European works, as Florida is a favored European destination. This piece has the look and feel of European art, but I cannot be certain of this origin - either way, it's really striking. The (canvas) picture itself is in excellent condition, with no visible stains, tears, or holes. The frame has some normal, light vintage wear, but no significant scratches, scuffs or gouges. The frame's linen border has some age-related discoloration, inevitable and common with older pieces. There are also a few artist imperfections (original art - artist was a bit careless). There is a small spot on the linen border that appears to be a drip of paint, probably from the artist touching up the painting prior to sale (see photo) - not terribly noticeable, as the linen border on this painting is narrow. There is also very faint, thin smudge on the painting that initially appeared to be a mark of some type, but on close inspection, it looks like it was an unintentional artist brush stroke (see photo). Does not show up in pictures - won't notice unless you are looking for it. The canvas is firmly mounted in the frame. The hanging bracket and wire are secure and sturdy.
