Vintage Excellent 1948-1950 Dobbs Beaver Fifteen Brown Gray Sz 7 & Box? Stetson

Description: This is an excellent, near pristine! This is a 1940s Dobbs Beaver Fifteen Light Forrest Green with a grayish tint, fedora. The color is quite unique and we hope we are describing it correctly? It’s basically a light forrest green with a bit of a grayish tint to it. The picture of the whole underside is the best color match.The front brim can easily be flipped up or down. It’s a great sharp looking hat! If you’d like it steamed down please write to us. It’s easily flipped though. It was easy to date this to the very late 1940s, with that “onions skin” hat liner cover. This pre-dates the 1950s plastic liner cover. This was found in that thick heavy 1930-40s Dobbs hat box but it’s in very rough condition. The bottom is broken, no hat holding inserts and the leather straps are broken, it’s just not worthy of storing the hat in or displaying. So dad has replaced it with that Excellent 1960s Dobbs hat box. It’s in great condition with very minor paper wear and it does have its original hat holding insert set, very worthy of storing, displaying and shipping the hat in! It’s a bigger hat box and requires a large shipping box. It will cost $34.20 to ship but you must first write to us and tell us you want the hat box so we can edit the ad. This is just your classic Porkpie style hat with a back bow. It’s like stepping back in time to the 1940s -1950s when men NEVER walked out of the home with their hat on! That Beaver 15 is extremely soft and pliable! It’s easily shaped into any style with just a bit of steam or simple hand bashing. Dad and Grandson did steam that beautiful pinched teardrop crown into the hat. Dad thought it looks perfect in that shape but if you’d like it changed please write us and send a picture of what you’d like? These hats are very popular with Jazz, Rock, Country Music artists and you see these worn at their concerts all the time. These are rarely found in such pristine condition! We filled the picture gallery so you can see every detail! It’s looks near pristine! Leather sweatband is perfect! Completely secured to the hat and still very soft and pliable! NO MOTH BITES and NO STAINS! We didn’t want to say it’s new because it’s just too beautiful to have never been worn! We can’t find a thing wrong with this fedora! We did find an under-tag that’s states size 6-7/8 but we know there was no hat size standardization back at that time and every manufacturer had their own unique sizing standard. This actually measures to a perfect 7 at 22 inches.We actually measure each hat 3 times using different methods. We discovered that one buyer crushed their shipping box and asked for a hefty partial refund. The shipper sent us a picture of the box sitting at the front door and it was NOT CRUSHED? We also discovered that because we were NOT in possession of the box it was impossible for us to file the claim. So now and in the future all claims will be handled by the buyer of the hat or item we ship. Again we ALWAYS carefully pack each hat so it will not be crushed in a good strong shipping box. There are always some Bad Apples around who make everyone’s life impossible! It not fair to the rest of the GOOD FOLKS but it’s a fact of life these days!
