Description: Mid 20th Century; Original 12" height, forest green with applied swirl handle, Mary Gregory style enameling, neoclassical style figures with gold highlights. The scene in white in both sides features a Grecian maiden being serenaded by a young man and Cupid is flying overhead. There are copious flowers. These vignettes are bordered in a gold frame. Overall each side has the appearance of a cameo. There is also gilding around the rim and base. The clear glass applied handle is twisted like a rope. Holds 4 quarts for use as a pitcher. Would also make a wonderful vase. The piece is in very good preowned vintage condition. The images are still quite crisp as is much of the gilding. The gold around the rim does show wear and some is missing. The top of the handle appears to have been repaired. See the last photo. The pitcher holds 4 quarts and is water tight.
