Vintage Ideal Shirley Temple Doll | Rare COP N&T.Co Version | 1934

Description: Item Description This listing is for one of the earliest Shirley Temple dolls made by Ideal Co. This doll should date from 1934-1935 as it has the rare COP N.&T.Co. marking on the back of the neck. The COP stands for Copyright Pending and this marking is found on the first year of regular production. After that first year, the back of the neck would have Shirley Temple and Ideal in a diamond as a marker. There are some prototypes before 1934 with a COP, but this is not one of those. Next, this doll has a blue nylon body suit that was sewn together that I did not feel like breaking the stitching and resewing it so that is why I don't have any pics of the doll without clothing. Finally, I don't know if the clothing is original. I doubt it as many of those had labels saying Shirley Temple. However, the dress is very old and fits perfectly so there is a chance it is original. I am not a doll expert, but if someone knows for sure, please pass that on one way or the other and I will update this listing. Item Condition I made sure to take as many pics as possible. So please take a close look at the pictures for exact condition as I tried to take them from every angle possible. After all, some people's “perfect” is another person's “mauled by a bear.” Overall, this doll is in pretty decent condition for its age.
