The back is stamped with Metlox 754 Made in California USA Des patent 124,201. The sides are embossed with a cherry blossom floral motif. Item is in excellent condition and measures 12.5” long 7.5” wide 2.5” tall Metlox Pottery was a manufacturer of ceramic housewares, located in Manhattan Beach, CA. Founded in 1927 by Theodor Prouty and his son Willis it was named Metlox Manufacturing and began as a company making outdoor signs. After Theodor’s passing in 1931, Willis renamed the company, Metlox Pottery and began producing dinnerware. The company closed in 1989.
