Description: ***THIS ITEM IS PICK UP ONLY!*** This Vintage Mid Century Console Stereo Cabinet by Drexel Heritage Furniture Co. is from the "Esperanto" collection and features a Motorola Solid State X300 Tuner with turntable 250 watts. Manufactured in 1966 during the much beloved and sought after "Golden Years" of the Drexel Heritage Furniture Co. (1950-60-early 70s) this cabinet is a sturdy, heavy piece of furniture (100lbs plus) not a flimsy particle board box with a stereo in it. The CABINET: (SEE PHOTOS for CONDITION) The cabinet is in great shape. All doors and door pulls are sturdy and tight and work as intended. The speaker covers are in good shape and don't appear to be damaged in any way, maybe ever so slightly faded from time. The back panel is completely intact and in great shape. There is a double door storage area for albums in the bottom front center of the cabinet as well as an area next to the turntable in the top of the cabinet with the tuner. The cabinet is missing one the four casters on the bottom (back right) THE STEREO: The Tuner powers on, and the AM/FM radio features and all of their controls work as intended. While both speakers do work, when using the balance knob to isolating each speaker, the left speaker is much quieter than the right side when each are isolated. The Turntable itself does not turn, but when the phono function is turned on the motor below powers on and sounds like it is turning. It is my belief that the belt has slipped, and should be an easy fix. I would also assume that the Headshell on the tonearm will need a new cartridge and stylus/needle (something less than 60yro). In addition, the rubber platter cover is misshapen due to the thin metal band of trim that has warped over time (See Pic 24). There are some other minor cosmetic problems with the thin metal trim on the tuner as seen in other pics. Mainly the failure of the (58yro) adhesive holding the trim in place (pic 22). This piece was purchased at an estate sale at the end 2018 with the intention of turning it into a bar. After getting it home and seeing how good of shape it was in, and that it was in working condition with original parts and hardware, I decided that I wanted to refurbish the stereo and turntable and install a Bluetooth receiver for modern functionality. unfortunately covid hit and I was in an industry that was considered "essential" so I had zero free time for the next two years. I would still like to restore it but I have other larger projects ongoing and I'm not sure when I would find the time. It's in such good condition I feel like it's too good of a piece to sit here untouched, It deserves better. If you have any question or want other photos of some particular part or area please don't hesitate to message me and ask. Thank you for viewing
