Description: This Vintage New York City Subway Roll Sign is in overall GOOD to Excellent condition as seen in the pictures provided. The roll sign also contains the original cylindrical metal roll sign rollers. I am unsure what year this roll sign was in service, if at all. The black roll material appears to be a very thin "canvass-type" of material. There is some wear on the outer edges of the roll sign along with some fading on the white placard lettering most likely due to years of having been stored "rolled-up". Also to mention, there is a very slight 3"-4" interior tear in the middle of the rolled fabric. Both metal cylinderical rollers are also included in which one of the metal cylindrical rollers has both outer metal retaining caps intact whereas at the other end of the roll sign the (2) metal cylindrical retaining caps are missing--only the metal roll cylinder itself remains. As seen in the pictures provided this vintage subway roll sign when rolled-out is approximately 25 feet long and 2' wide--very long indeed. It appears to me the roll sign has not been in usage very long. I am not a collector of these signs and am selling this vintage roll sign "AS IS" so please examine the pictures provided in order to determine the overall condition and authenticity of this roll sign.
