Description: Item : This delightful vintage colored etching it titled in pencil "Le Manoir" on the lower left and pencil signed Pierre in the lower right. It also has the SZL hallmark in the lower left corner which is the hallmark of printmaker Sidney Z. Lucas. In the upper left it is marked "Copyright 1937 Camilla Lucas - NY USA". Beginning in the 1920 Sidney Z. Lucas owned The Old Print Center in New York and ran a gallery named the Camilla Lucas Gallery. Lucas also formed the Paris Etching Society, where he traveled to Europe and commissioned prints by primarily French and Flemish artists. These were all original, hand-colored aquatints or etchings and they were usually signed and sometimes titled in pencil by the artists. This etching shows a landscape of the French countryside with a river meandering through a village. The image size is 8 3/8" by 6 3/8". With frame, it measures 15 3/4" by 12 3/4". The print has been matted, covered with glass and framed with a gold painted wooden frame. The print is in great vintage condition. There is a break in the glass in the upper left corner and some roughness along the top edge of the glass.
