Description: These 2 Charlotte Weibull dolls sitting on a bench are both in Swedish folk costumes from the harad or parish of Frosta in the province of Skane in southern Sweden. Her apron and his vest are woven from an authentic pattern from this harad. This sort of costume is from the 18th to 19th centuries. The female's skirt is made from a rough felt-like cloth and the vest is satin and her shirt is cotton. His pants seems to be a heavy polyester and he wears a felt hat. The dolls are attached to a cute wooden bench that is 8 1/2" long. They are actually sewn onto the bench. The dolls themselves seem to be approximately 7" tall. These dolls are made with a wire frame, around which a foam material is wrapped for stuffing. The many details, as a walking stick, violins and bows, wooden shoes and the sewn cloth parts are all hand made. These are somewhat older dolls, but are very clean and without flaws. This artist was very popular internationally from the 1950's to about the 1990's, but the dolls are still being sought after by numerous collectors.
