Vintage USA Royal Pony Tank 4700 Metal Canister Vacuum Cleaner *Excellent*

Description: Up for auction is an all metal 4700 canister vacuum with a full set of on-board attachments manufactured by Royal. Royal is the oldest name in the vacuum business dating back to 1905 and their products are among the best. These metal canister vacuums were some of the best ever made and they are getting harder to find in nice working order. The 4700 was produced right here in the USA from 1999-2002 and uses the Panasonic designed power nozzle making this a much better cleaning machine than the earlier versions that featured a Filter Queen sourced nozzle.. This one was manufactured in 2002 making it one of the last ones ever produced (this is the only one I've ever had from 2002 and I've only ever seen one other)! The 4700 was near the top of the Royal canister line just under the 4750 and it retailed for around $600-$700 in the early 2000's. There are really no canister vacuums on the market anymore made with this "old world" quality. This one is in excellent, like new condition, showing very light use. I have sold over a dozen of these over the years and this is one of the nicest ones I've had. There is hardly any wear on anything! It looks more like a 1 or 2 year old vacuum rather than almost 23 years old! The vacuum has great suction and everything seems to work as it should with no odd noises or bad odors. It features an 8 foot crush proof vinyl hose and 30 foot vinyl covered cord. If you are looking for a nice Royal canister don't miss out on this one, they don't come around very often anymore and finding one this nice and complete is getting very rare. There are only 2 very minor issues, there is a chunk broken out of the tool caddy under the dusting brush but if the brush is in place it is completely hidden and the foot release lever on the power nozzle has snapped off (which happens to over 95% of these 4700s). The person I bought it from had kept the lever so I super glued it back on so you can't really tell it's broken but I would not use it as it will likely snap off again if you put much pressure on it. You can still release the lower wand from the power nozzle using the button on the lower wand housing. This model uses Type J Royal bags. I will include 1 installed in the unit as well as 1 extra new bag, a rare color copy of the dealer spec sheet, and a copy of the owner's manual.
