VTG. 1960-70s Peter Max Style Print Sewing Basket Groovy Flower Power Colors

Description: Vintage 1960-70s Peter Max Style Print Sewing Basket Groovy Flower Power Colors Purple Measures 14 inches long by 9 inches deep by 6 1/2 inches tall(with handle, is about 10 1/2 inches tall) Condition: Pre-owned. Super nice vintage 1960s-70s hard sided padded sewing basket with Peter Max style fabric print. This groovy Flower Power swirl fabric features purples, pinks and orange and white. It's a really nicely constructed sewing box with metal latch and hinges. The swing handle is made out of wood. The interior tray is a very solid plastic. It's sometimes hard to find the inserts in good shape because they were made so flimsy. Not so with this one! Judging from the quality, it was most likely made in Japan, however it's unmarked. It sits on 4 plastic foot pads. The foot pads and bottom is in great shape, too. The fabric is still vibrant, so it was probably stored out of the sun. The top was a little dusty, and I've gently cleaned it. There's one small hole in the fabric on the top of the lid near the hook (see last picture). There's one small bit of what looks like a dark wax on the top of the basket (see second from last photo). There's a small, light stain on the lower right hand corner (see third from last picture). The pin pad on the inside has a small tear from use (fourth from last photo). Other than those very few minor areas, this basket is overall clean has seen light use. It's a fantastic find and would be a great score for display or use. You just don't see this style of fabric come up very often.
