Made of paper, and published by the Oberkommando der Heer, this map is in EXCELLENT condition for its age, and covers Western Europe and Southern Great Britain. Dated October 1944, it indicates various locations of lakes, seas, towns, villages, cities, and elevations. The specific map includes Germany, Austria, France, Italy, England, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Major cities include London, Wien, Florence, Munich, Paris, etc. Also features longitude and latitude degree markings. "Deutsche Heereskarte" (German Army Map) is marked at the corner, as well as "Nicht für die öffentlichkeit bestimmt! (Not for the General Public!). There is also a warning that I have never seen before that indicates: Chef der Kriegskarten und VermessungswesensNachdruck oder Missbräuliche Benutzung verboten!Urheberrecht vorbehalten! (Chief of War Maps and Map Surveying.Reproduction or Abusive Use Prohibited!Copyright reserved!) I found a large quantity of these in a German attic, and as such, they do feature some slight wear, folds, creasing, small tears, and water stains due to humidity and storage. One of the largest maps I have seen, it measures approx. 3.5 x 4.5 feet in size. Would look AMAZING framed!
