Description: A nice example of a World War One Imperial German Army Infantryman's Bi-Metal Brass Belt Buckle from Trenches of the Western Front 1914-18. Measuring approx 2.5" x 2" and one of a small group of 3 buckles discovered locally in Belgium, it offers a good brass patina with a small amount of tarnish & verdigris to the front & rear. With the centre bearing the Kaiser's Crown and the legend Gott Mit Uns (God is With Us) the tarnish doesn't really detract from what is a good example of a pre-war-issue belt buckle that formerly belonged to a WW-I German Infantryman, fighting on, or near, the Ypres Salient... Thanks for looking..!
