Description: Original WW2 THIRD REICH era military map of AUSTRIA entitled "HOFGASTEIN" which also features an area of ITALY. This map was printed in late November 1936 by the official military mapping services in Vienna (Wien), which then came under German control following Austria's 'annexation' in 1938. This differs to most Austrian military maps I've seen from this period as they all tended to be hand stamped by the German authorities with the heading...."Nur für den Dienstgebrauch" (equivalent to a "RESTRICTED" British military map). I have another version of this map printed in 1940 by the Germans which formalises this heading by printing it in bold black letters in the top left corner. Interestingly, that version also has an altered title of "BAD HOFGASTEIN". Will be shipped as per its existing fold lines.
