Contact Us!71 5557 1 68 8 Description:1 old Koto period Japanese Army sword available. This sword was mounted in early Russo-Japanese War kyu-gunto mounts. This sword would make an important addition to any collection. The Russo mounts (or even slightly earlier) have features of the earliest kyu-gunto pieces. Note the very early type lock. The original koshirae have a wood tsunagi (wood blade mirroring the shape of the original Samurai blade). The original Koto sword blade has had lots of money spent on its preservation. The blade had a new polish. Also, a new wood saya was made for it. This sword has an exceptional habaki. The blade measures 20 11/16" (52.6 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine. The blade has a bohi groove. The sword is made lighter with a bohi. The nakago is unsigned. Condition:This WW2 Japanese sword is in new polish. One strand of one revolution of the ten three-wire handle wire wrap revolutions is missing. The mounts are in exceptional condition. The money already spent on this sword with polish and a new shirasaya is already more than the list price of this fine sword!
